Dream Wild Safaris...

"After our trip to Africa, Vicki and I truly believe that Paul Mbutu is by far the very best guide any one could ever have on a safari. His knowledge and experience on our trip was outstanding. The experience we had rates at the top of my bucket list. Thanks so much for your efforts. We will always remember it.”

Wilson and Vicki Peters, Flower Mound, TX, USA

"We had the pleasure of fulfilling a bucket-list dream trip by going on a drive-photo safari with Paul Mbutu of Dream Wild Africa Safari in February of 2017.

"We had the pleasure of meeting Paul briefly prior to going to Africa. It was so easy to bond with Paul and his drivers. His vast knowledge was tapped immediately as our group was full of questions on Kenya’s animals, regions and parks. We covered a lot of miles and Paul was diligent that our group see and experience the "big five" and even many more of the birds and animals. All the people we encountered along the way were so friendly!"

"Paul comes to the rescue when the need arises proving resourceful in working things out. Paul and his team are calm and reassuring. Recommend you sit co-pilot with Paul along your journey and have him teach you the Jambo Bwana song!!!"

Best Tour Guide and Travel Arranger in Kenya!

"In February of 2017 Paul Mbutu of Dream Wild Africa arranged my month long tour of Kenya and Rwanda.

"The first third of my tour was with a small group of three to north central Kenya, the second third with my high school reunion group of ten or so from Tsavo to Masai Mara, and the last third by myself to northwest Kenya at Lake Turkana and then down to Rwanda.

"Paul arranged for all transfers, boat rides and connections and especially a guide and cook to meet me on the east side of Lake Turkana since there are no hotels or restaurants there and it is quite remote, and then down to Rwanda into Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking.

"Paul knows the country intimately so security and safety was never an issue. Paul never fails to be cheerful, courteous, resourceful and thoroughly knowledgeable about all wildlife as well as knowing a lot about photography - having been a tour guide for National Geographic photographers.

"I recommend Paul Mbutu to you without reservation.

"I noticed many other guides called him for information during our trip, and heard from others about him having gone far beyond what was required to assure the best care and safety of his clients.

"You will be in good hands with Paul."

Stephen Chapman, Allen, TX, USA

"I had always dreamed of going to Kenya and my trip was beyond my expectations. In Nairobi we visited the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Karen Blixen’s coffee plantation (from the movie Out of Africa). Seeing those baby elephants was a delight just knowing they were to be returned to the wild. The coffee plantation and Karen’s house tour given by a native guide was very interesting as he related her life in Kenya to us.

"Then we went to Tsavo West National Park (where the lodge overlooked a watering hole), Amboseli National Park (where we got to photograph Mount Kilimanjaro), the Great Rift Valley, Lake Elementaita (home of the pink flamingoes), Lake Nakuru National Park and the Maasai Mara Reserve (where we visited a Maasai village). These parks have many of the same animals but each park has a different ecological system. Seeing these animals in their native habitats was wonderful and enlightening. We saw almost all of Kenya’s wildlife – the elusive leopard was never found – but we had plenty of opportunities to photograph zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, gazelle, elephant, hyena, baboon, cape buffalo, birds, lion, cheetah, rhino, hippo, crocodile, ostrich (with chicks following their mom), jackal, mongooses, fox and even a land tortoise. There were many opportunities to see and take pictures of the animals as our guides took us out twice a day to enjoy each park. Photographing these animals at different times of day provided us with how they live and sustain themselves in their environment.

"Our guides had seen to it that our accommodations were always welcoming and ready. Our lodges were roomy, modern and clean. The lodge staffs at these places were courteous and always seeing to our comfort.

"Our meal were buffets with many different kinds of food available – some even being African dishes – but always a good selection of both hot and cold salads, soups and entrees and of course deserts. The lodges even fixed us boxed lunches for the day trips and picnics. In Nairobi, we ate at a great restaurant that served all kinds of meats from skewers. Nobody ever went hungry.

"Our guides Paul and James (and Justus for a few days) were wonderful, courteous and thankfully had a great sense of humor. They even arranged for a wedding anniversary celebration (with the lodge staff providing the entertainment and a cake) for one of our couples on the safari. The vans were comfortable (even over some bumpy roads) and always stocked with bottled water and soft drinks. They would stop when we asked them to or they would point out the animals coming up so we could get some really good photos. We also got to stop at souvenir shops to buy baubles to take home with us.

"I was truly pleased with Dream Wild Africa and all the parks and sights we got to see. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken because of the organized and well-planned itinerary and all of the animals and environments we got to see. It was kind of sad to have it end as I had gotten close to the people who went and to the guides who provided us such a wonderful experience."

Rita Harden, Carrollton, TX, USA

"I have been a safari guide for 19 years in Zimbabwe. With my experience and connections, the time is coming that I will build my own travel/safari company. In favor of that, I had been looking on the web for a company that I thought could be my ideal model. I found Dream Wild Africa and thought they were the one. In October, I went to Kenya and took a safari with them. I made the right choice. Not only for a wonderful safari, but also for a business model on which I will build. Paul Mbutu and his people are first rate."

Mike Padiwa, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

"Four years ago, my wife and I took two of our grandsons on a safari to Kenya. Within 15 minutes of our arrival in Nairobi, our guide, Paul Mbutu, bonded immediately with all of us. His professionalism experience, knowledge and incredible personality made the trip an unforgettable experience. There are not enough words or phrases to express how great a guide Paul is. For anyone interested in additional details, you may feel free to call me on my cell: 760-285-1391."

Rick Passon, Indian Wells, CA, USA

"Paul Mbutu saw those few moments that might challenge someone with the occasional special need even before my husband and I did and arranged things so that our 2+-week safari could not have gone more smoothly. We recommend Dream Wild Safaris to any and all."

Kay Dimmick, Iosco Co., MI, USA

"I met Paul Mbutu on my first safari in Kenya in 2005. I was on my own, and hired him as a guide and car driver.

"His kindness and awareness were both highly appreciated, along with what I would call a mixed British-Kikuyu humour that is not the least important quality when you’re travelling alone.

"He managed to show me, in only two days, most of the big five in the vast area of Tsavo that is normally difficult for photographers. I was able to take pictures of wild animals difficult to spot such as leopard, lions and wild dogs.

"As I had only two days, I asked him to drive also during the hot hours that are not really appropriate for wildlife watching. Paul remained very concentrated all the day long, taking care of his car before going to sleep, only to be able to get ready early in the morning.

"Since then, I’ve gone on a dozen safaris in other places in Africa with different people but I would still recommend Paul to anyone who wants to meet authentic wildlife."

Bernard Monlyade, Singapore

"I met Paul Mbutu as a guide and driver for a 2-week safari in February, 2011 in Tanzania. Thanks to Paul this trip was an unforgettable time. His knowledge about animals, plants and nearly everything of importance in his beautiful land, as well as his gentle manner, made the trip very pleasant.

"A special thanks to him for his patience with me as a hobby photographer. He always found the best place for the car, in the best light right in front of the animals.

"There is nothing more to say, except that if you want to enjoy a unforgettable trip to Kenya and Tanzania, Paul is the first choice to go with.

"And last but not least, thanks to Paul for teaching me a few words in Swahili: asante sana (thank you very much), safari njema (good journey) and kwaheri (goodbye)."

Doris Maria Niklas, Germany

"It was in January 2010 when I had the great joy of experiencing Paul as a safari guide. His cheerful, social heart combined with his knowledge and true love for nature made this trip very dear to me. Dear in a sense of connecting to the animals and surroundings, instead of driving past them and making some pictures. Asante sana, Paul!"

Julia Falger, The Netherlands

"From the moment I met Paul, I felt I’d made a friend. With his smile, laughter, and warm personality, I immediately knew our time together would be memorable and fun. On our road trips, Paul shared his knowledge of Kenya. There seemed to be no question about his country that he couldn’t answer. And always there was a sense of lightness, that no task was too large, no challenge insurmountable, and that Paul truly loves leading safaris. Without question, I will use Paul’s services whenever I return to Kenya. He is that good, and he became a friend. Thank you Paul!"

Andrew Sullivan, photographer, Stamford, CT, USA

"We booked Paul for two different safaris. The first was in 2009 for 13 days in the Maasai Mara reserve. In 2012, Paul took us on a 14-day safari around Kenya. Paul has a lot of experience in driving his car to always get the best position for photographers. He also knows many things about animal behavior. For us, he was the perfect guide to our safari and we’re looking forward to the next meeting!"

Alfred & Alexandra Tschui, Switzerland

"Paul was our guide and driver when my family visited Kenya for a very special trip to find the farm where my dad had grown up near Kericho. He also took us to the Maasai Mara, and various places en route to Kericho, including Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru National Park.

"We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful person to accompany us on our trip, and I can honestly say that the experience would not have been the same without Paul as our driver. He was extremely knowledgeable, and we always felt completely safe with him driving us. The weather was unusually rainy at the time we visited, meaning several similar vehicles got stuck in the mud and had all sorts of problems, but with Paul’s extremely skilled driving we never encountered any issues.

"He had an impressive knowledge about all of the animals we saw on safari, and always went the extra mile to ensure that we had the best possible experience. If we visit Kenya again, which we would love to do with our children, I would have no hesitation in using Paul as our guide — in fact, I wouldn’t want to do it unless he was our guide!

"By the end of our holiday, we’d not only had an amazing experience but also felt that we had made a new and very special friend. I cannot recommend Paul highly enough."

Clare Brilliant, United Kingdom

"We met Paul 5 years ago in the Masai Mara and since that time he is our friend and best guide in the MM National Reserve. He guided us every year with an excellent feeling for photographers’ wishes. Paul always knows the best time, best location and best position for the best sightings. We also have a lot of fun together. That is the reason why we want to visit Kenya and Paul every year and will recommend him as an excellent guide."

Inge and Jo Bathmann, Germany

"We remember with great pleasure our adventures in Kenya in which you were such a good guide. We hope to return and travel with you again. In the meantime we will recommend you to our friends in Poland and England who might be going to Africa. Soon we will send you some photographs of our time together."

Andrew, Phillipa and Luke Wilski, Poland

"We had a fabulous time in the Serengeti as well, but we actually preferred the Masai Mara, but better not tell the Tanzanians that! Ha! Ha! We have already recommended you and Matira camp to others! Cheers again."
